Just how many weddings does a planner manage?
How many weddings do I plan a year?
And not only couples, my friends ask me this question all the time, too. It's a weekend, so they ask "do you have a wedding this weekend?" When I say no, they think that I'm not busy.
Well, that's not really how wedding planning works. I plan weddings all year round and I'm busy all the time, so just because I don't have a wedding every weekend, doesn't mean that this is not a full-time job. It is!
But it's important to keep everything in balance, right?
A DJ, a photographer, a caterer, a videographer, a florist have multiple events a week, often ending up with well over 100 events a year. I keep it real and attend to 10-12, sometimes 15 weddings a year. That's plenty! I want to make sure that I can keep the facts straight and don't confuse my couples names or details and manage to follow up on all of the many to dos that need to be coordinated in a timely fashion. It takes meticulous time management and attention to detail to plan for a wedding, let alone 10 or more.
So long story short, 10 weddings may not sound like a lot but if you consider how much time you or a friend is spending on their wedding plans, you will understand that juggling multiple of them, needs someone that can keep it cool.
What would you have guessed how many weddings a wedding planner takes on?
